Jacobi, Toombs & Lanz, Inc. (JTL) has functioned as the project engineer on the development, maintenance
and operation of the Clark-Floyd Landfill since its inception in 1970. Since project commencement,
the landfill has expanded to include six interdependent sections. Two cornerstone projects in which JTL
has been the lead engineer include:
- Landfill Gas (LFG) Extraction System Design: $1.5 million project; 46 permanent vertical extraction
wells and 6 horizontal extraction wells; 39,000 LF of collection and air line piping; 1,700 SCFM flare/
blower station; currently operating in full compliance with IDEM standards.
- Section 6 Expansion Solid Waste Permit: Garnered permit from IDEM for design, construction and
operation of Section 6 Horizontal Expansion; 36 acres expansion area; 1,800,000 CY capacity expansion;
area currently operating in full compliance with IDEM standards.
- Other solid waste projects by JTL include design and permitting of transfer stations.
